If you ever plan to motor west, travel my way, take the highway that is best. Get your kicks, on Route Sixty-six. -Nat King Cole
If you're motoring west, enjoy a trip through the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert National Park just before Winslow, Arizona. It is a nice 28-mile drive starting from one end of the park to the other. From the south entrance, you will see large logs of petrified wood. As you travel north you will enjoy the painted desert and come out on Interstate 40. Walk through the petrified forest to get a close look along the way. Walk the Blue Mesa Trail and take in the views of the beautiful blue teepees. Take a picture with the 1932 Studebaker along the original Route 66 before taking in the expansive views of the badlands on the way out of the north end. Don't forget a picture in front of the National Park sign!
